Happy Easter from Kurt Nielsen Photography

I just wanted to wish everyone a very Happy and Healthy Easter!

I'm pretty sure the Easter Bunny was at my studio,

and left a basket full of eggs!

I hope he was good to you as well!

So enjoy your day and don't eat too many eggs or candy!

Out-takes by Toledo Portrait Photographer Kurt Nielsen Photography

Photography is the art of capturing memories.  When you hire a portrait photographer, you want the photo session to be memorable, not dull and boring!

At Kurt Nielsen Photography, I try to keep things entertaining and fun because that brings out the personalities of the people I am photographing, which, in turn, makes for much better portraits.

Of course, eventually, some people get tired of my jokes, tricks and funny noises,

and others even get down right mad at the thought of me taking more pictures!

Sometimes people even have complete meltdowns!

In order to ensure a great time and keep this from happening, I try to think outside of the box to make every photo session unique.

Your job is to make sure everyone in the photo session is well rested, has been fed and is in a great mood.  Also, schedule your appointment at the time of day that is when you (and everyone in the portraits) are at your best!

Don't be shy or afraid of the camera, just be yourselves!  Have fun and the portraits will reflect the real you!

January and February 2011 - Toledo Photographer - Kurt Nielsen Photography Update

January and February are traditionally slower months for me and the photography industry in General.  And this year was no different.  But that doesn't mean that I wasn't busy.

I started the year off spending New Year's Day at a wedding with Kurt's Kustom Keepsakes!

I spent a lot of time sitting around trying to come up with new marketing ideas.

I went to the Sounds Of Music bridal show at Gladiuex Meadows and took Kurt's Kustom Keepsakes with me, and I booked a few brides!

I took a drive

to go see some financial planning people!

I hung out with some of my neighbors

and some old friends!

I went to a couple of parties!

I even went to my first Snow Ball!

I did have a few shoots at my studio.

And to top it all off, my new website was hatched (ok, launched)!

Even though January and February was not a busy time for me as far as photo shoots go, it was indeed a very busy period in general!

Be sure to check out my new website at:  www.kurtnphoto.com!  I just added a Guest Book, so be sure to sign it and let me know what you think about my new site!  Have a great day and thanks for supporting Kurt Nielsen Photography!

Toledo Photographer - December 2010 Update by Kurt Nielsen Photography

I'm still trying to get caught up on my blogging!  It's not an easy task with my phone ringing off the wall with people trying to schedule appointments for my That's Me! Portrait Contest benefiting Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Ohio, so please forgive me!  (No, I'm not complaining at all!!!)

Anyhow, December was a very busy month with customers wanting family portraits and images of their children for their homes and Christmas cards (did you know I can make greeting cards and announcements....great for graduation and birth announcements too!).  Here are a few of those who made it into my studio in December!

I had a few babies come in from our Baby My Baby sessions:

I also photographed a Maternity Session!  (The baby in this picture is George!)

Then I had to go to court! (LOL)

I went to a Bat Mitzvah!

I even photographed a person's house that was decorated for Christmas! ( I do this one every year!)

They have such cool decorations!

Plus I got to do a Winter Engagement Photo Shoot!  I can't wait for their wedding in July!

And to top it all off, I had breakfast with Santa at the Mall!

As you can see, December was a very busy month for me!  I hope everyone had a great holiday season!
